Part of the account creation process involves coming up with a password. Unfortunately, too many people are not taking the time to craft strong passwords and store them safely.
The statistics bear this out, as BlackCloak found 62% of members did not use proper password practices at the time they were onboarded, meaning they either reused passwords, did not use a password manager, or stored them in a clear text format, such as a word document or an excel spreadsheet.
To add to this problem, there's a high probability one of your passwords has already been compromised, as 77% of our members had passwords we found on the dark web that they didn't know about.
Luckily, creating proper passwords, and storing them securely, is easy to do, and in recognition of World Password Day, BlackCloak has published new educational materials, which can be found below, to help you and your family keep cybercriminals out of your accounts.
