The Wall Street Journal reports that hackers have been able to steal cryptocurrency from individual investors, particularly through the SIM card on their phones. 

How Hackers Leverage SIM Cards to Siphon Crypto:

Malicious actors have been able to steal money from crypto investors through SIM hijacking, where a phone number is switched from one device to another. Calls and text messages are rerouted from the victim's device to one controlled by a hacker, who can then use the information to access crypto accounts.

Breach of Customer Data from GoDaddy

GoDaddy is a recent victim of a data breach affecting 1.2 million of its 20 million customers worldwide. They have already taken steps to mitigate the impact of the breach.

What to Know About the Breach:

• The company said the unauthorized individual used a compromised password to access their systems. It believes customers' email addresses and numbers were exposed, which could lead to an increased risk of phishing attacks.
• GoDaddy added original WordPress admin passwords may have also been compromised, possibly allowing unauthorized parties to access WordPress servers.
• GoDaddy has reset customer WordPress passwords, private keys, and is in the process of issuing new SSL certificates.

What Steps Should You Take:

• If you have a GoDaddy account, monitor for suspicious emails and questionable messages that could be a phishing attack. If you receive any suspicious emails, send them to the BlackCloak Concierge team for review. 
• Reset any GoDaddy and WordPress password, enable dual-factor authentication, and change any other similar passwords on other accounts.
