Apple has released security updates for several of its devices. In addition to the rollout of iOS 16, Apple released iOS 15.7 and iPadOS 15.7 to patch vulnerabilities the tech company said have been actively exploited.
Regardless of which device you own, it's important to download these updates as soon as possible.
What Devices Are Affected?
Depending on your iPhone model, some users will be able to choose between downloading iOS 15.7 and iOS 16. iPad users will only have the ability to download iPadOS 15.7.
Devices that only support iOS 15.7 and iPadOS 15.7: iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation)
Devices that support iOS 15.7 and iOS 16: iPhone 8 and later.
The screen iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users will see.
The screen anyone using an iPhone 8 and later will see.
The screen iPad users will see.
What To Do About This?
If your device has an update available, update immediately. To learn how, consult our guide on updating your mobile devices and computers. When you are done, your mobile devices should be running either iOS 15.7, iOS 16 or iPadOS 15.7
